Outstanding leadership by Joe Torre for the Yankees

Joe Torre was admitted to the Hall of fame in baseball in the month of July. He is the third manager who will be seeing the uniform no. 6 to get retired. This will happen in a ceremony that will be held on the 23rd of August at the Stadium of Yankee by the Yankees.

The Yankees were led into the World Series Titles for the very first time by Casey Stengel. The second time it was Billy Martin who led the team. It was Torre’s team who won the championship of the World Series four times. It also won the American League for six times as long as he was the manager from the year 1996 to 2007.

There will be plaques in the honour of earlier players namely Paul o’Neil, Goose Gossage and Tino Martinez. It was announced by the yanks that this will happen on three different dates this year in summer. The ceremonies fro Gossage and Martinez will be held on the June 21st and 22nd during the Old Timers’ Day. Then the ceremony for Paul o’Neil will be held on the 9th day of August. The club also mentioned that theses ceremonies will be held as an inclusion in the recognition series and will have the presence of Bernie Williams.

The present Vice President of the Major League Baseball, Torre gathered an outstanding record during his rule in the Yankee. He also led the team to the playoffs every year and managed the team quite well. He had gone into various series which include the famous ones such as AL Championship Series, AL Division Series and World Series. His series of victories is positioned in the second number in the history of the club after Joe McCarthy.
